Senior Field Service Engineers – Medical and Aesthetics Lasers

Greater London and South West England

Salary – Highly competitive depending on specific experience.

With over 20 years' experience and a network of highly trained engineers, Lasertronic is one of the UK’s leading providers of medical laser servicing and repair.  As a wholly owned subsidiary of sk:n Clinics and the appointed UK service provider for Syneron Candela we maintain and repair an extensive range of medical lasers, aesthetics workstations and various types of clinic support equipment nationwide. Due to the expansion of sk:n Clinics and Lasertronic’s  growth through third-party and NHS contracts we are currently recruiting for several Junior and Experienced Field Laser Service Engineers to join our team supporting London and Southern England.

 Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repair, test, calibrate, align and install laser systems, sub-systems or sub-assemblies.
  • Report and resolve potential problems which could impact timely completion, first time fix and long term repair of faults, such as more complex problems being discovered.
  • Provide technical support remotely to assigned clinics and clients when pre-assessing fault reports.
  • Maintain complete and accurate service records using industry leading service support software.
  • Provide on-site technical support to clients as required.
  • Provide on-site technical support for workshops and exhibitions in the UK.
  • Some overnight travel and occasional EU travel for factory training may be required.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills:

While a comprehensive program of internal and external training on lasers and specific laser repair competencies will be provided, a minimum educational and experience profile is required to be successful in this role.

  • Degree or HND in Electronics / Electronic Engineering of certificated equivalent from HM Forces
  • 2 -3 years + experience in a field service role for systems based machines where several types of system (i.e. Electronic / Electrical / Cooling / Mech-a-tronics) are integral to the complete machine operation. Similar period servicing similar medical electronics or in military equivalent roles is also highly desirable.
  • Specific experience in a laser field servicing role. Must include direct experience field servicing lasers, alignment of optical parts and diagnosis and replacement and HV electrical components. Ideally would include, but not exclusively free running (long pulse) and Q-switched lasers, harmonic generation, fibre and articulated arm delivery systems. This would ideally (but not necessarily) be with medical lasers in a clinic and hospital environment.

Critical Competencies:  

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems using electrical and systems schematic diagrams
  • Familiarity with computers, control system including DOS, Word and Excel
  • Continually develop knowledge of laser equipment and aesthetics.
  • Adhere to company guidelines and procedures regarding health and safety.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures for expenses, purchases and ordering of spare parts
